James W. Larson Death News: Retired Members of Albany Fire Department, James W. Larson Passed Away
It is with regret that an announcement is made of the death of retired Chief of Department James W. Larson, which occurred on April 16, 2024.
Chief Larson was a 32-year-old member of our Albany Fire Department, appointed in November 1968.
Chief Larson served as Chief of the Department from December 1987 through November 2000.
I join Fire Department Chief Joseph Gregory in sharing my condolences with the entire Larson family. Funeral arrangements are pending.
In honor of Chief Larson’s decades of public service, I have directed all flags in the City of Albany be lowered to half-staff until further notice.
